Data Entry Officer
Job Description
A Data Entry Officer works with large volumes of data and information, accurately and precisely processing and entering all data into an allocated computer system, database, or content management system. This role is vital for further analysis of data for a range of purposes such as research, sales and marketing, process improvements and surveys. This information is often sensitive and confidential. A Data Entry Officer could be also known as a Data Entry Administrator, or Data Entry Operator. A Data Entry Officer works in a repetitive role that requires high level attention to detail, accuracy and acceptable keyboarding and data entry speeds. A Data Entry Officer may also be involved in the implementation of new programs and systems, testing, and assessing data and how it can be entered, filtered, and reviewed.
Qualifications
You do not require any formal training to become a Data Entry Officer.
A good typing speed (a typing certificate), prior experience and knowledge of various computer software programs would be advantageous.
