Qualifications
Holding a qualification in a related field is an advantage to becoming a Career Development Consultant, particularly if you would like to seek membership with a professional body.
Consider completing a Certificate IV in Career Development through a registered training organisation. This is the entry-level qualification for the career development professional in Australia.
Alternatively, choose an undergraduate qualification in a field of study related to career development. These include: education, human resources, coaching, psychology, counselling, human services, management, social science, sociology and training and development.
Consider pursing further career development education at a postgraduate level.
Apply for membership with the Career Development Association of Australia. Various membership levels are available depending on your level of qualification.
