Qualifications

While qualifications are not essential to become a Farmhand, they may be an advantage when seeking employment.

Obtain your drivers’ licence from the roads and traffic authority in your state. It may also help to consider obtaining a tractor licence.

Gain an entry-level Junior Farmhand role and work your way up to having more responsibility through a direct traineeship.

Consider completing a Certificate III in Horticulture, Certificate III in Agriculture or a Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management from a TAFE or a registered training organisation.
