Early Childhood Educator
Job Description
Childcare Educators are responsible for caring for infants and young children up to six years of age who are placed into care while their parents are busy working or otherwise. They attend to the basic needs of children, such as dressing, feeding, and overseeing play. Childcare Educators teach young children basic vocabulary, reading and writing, and developing the foundations of social interactions. Childcare Educators regularly communicate with children’s families and the teams they work in.

Qualifications
You will need to gain a qualification in early childhood education or children’s services to become a childcare educator in Australia.
You will also require a current Working with Children Check and undergo a police check.
A First Aid Certificate may also be required.
You may be able to gain a traineeship while you study. Qualifications include;
- Certificate III in early Childhood Education and Care
- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
